  • Certificate attestation: preparing and submitting educational, personal and commercial documents for attestation by the issuing authority, the embassy concerned and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

Who Wordcraft Serves

Wordcraft serves individuals, families and companies in the UAE, and people abroad who need a document translated or attested for use in the UAE. Typical cases are degree certificates for a job or visa, birth and marriage certificates for family visas, powers of attorney, court and police documents, and company documents for licensing and banks.

How the Process Works

The route depends on where the document was issued and where it will be used. Wordcraft confirms the route in writing before any work begins.

  1. Foreign document for use in the UAE: the document is legalized in the country that issued it and attested by the UAE embassy there; UAE MOFA attestation follows (digitally in most cases). If the UAE authority needs it in Arabic, a MOJ-licensed legal translator then translates it.
  2. UAE document for use abroad: the issuing UAE authority certifies it, then UAE MOFA attests it, then the embassy of the destination country legalizes it. A translation is added where the destination requires one.
  3. Document that must be notarized: Wordcraft drafts or translates the document; the person signs it in front of the notary public, who notarizes it. Wordcraft arranges this but does not notarize.

The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so foreign documents for the UAE go through embassy and MOFA attestation, not an apostille. More: translate or attest first? · notarization vs attestation · how to check a MOJ legal translation.

What Wordcraft Is Not

  • Wordcraft is not a government office. Attestation is issued by the authorities (issuing body, embassies, UAE MOFA); Wordcraft prepares and submits the files.
  • Wordcraft is not a notary. Notarization is done by the notary public; Wordcraft drafts, translates and arranges.
  • Only Wordcraft's legal translation is MOJ-licensed work. Attestation, notarization support, business setup and visa services are not MOJ services.
