How It Works — Step by Step

  1. Free consultation — tell us about your plans on WhatsApp, by email or at any of our four offices (Dubai HQ in Al Twar, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah) and get a free quote within 10–30 minutes.
  2. Activity and free zone — we match your business activity with a suitable free zone and company structure (for example FZE or FZCO).
  3. Name and initial approval — we reserve the trade name and apply for initial approval, submitting shareholder and manager documents.
  4. Facility and licence — you choose a flexi-desk, office or warehouse, sign the lease and the licence application, and the free zone issues the licence and company documents.
  5. Visas and bank account — we apply for the establishment card and investor or employee visas and help you open the corporate bank account.
  6. Handover — collect your licence and company documents from our office or receive them by free delivery, with PRO support for renewals afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a free zone company trade in the UAE mainland?

Generally a free zone company trades inside its zone and internationally. Trading directly with mainland customers usually needs a local distributor, a mainland branch or an additional permit, and the rules vary by free zone — we check this for your activity.

Do I need an office in the free zone?

Most free zones require some form of facility — from a flexi-desk to an office or warehouse — and the facility you choose affects how many visas the company can apply for.

Can I add partners or change activities later?

Yes. Shareholders, managers and activities can usually be amended through the free zone authority; we prepare the amendment documents and handle the application.

How to Choose the Right Free Zone

  • Activity: every zone has its own activity list; commodities fit DMCC, media fits SHAMS, consultancy and trading fit IFZA or Meydan.
  • Visas: how many residence visas you need now and in two years.
  • Facility: flexi-desk, office, warehouse or land.
  • Customers: mainland customers may need a permit, a distributor or a mainland company.
  • Banking and reputation: some zones are better known to banks and corporate clients.

Dubai Free Zones We Work With

Our most requested Dubai zones are IFZA (consultancy, trading and services with flexible visa packages), Meydan Free Zone (consultants, e-commerce and digital start-ups) and DMCC (commodities and premium JLT offices). We also handle JAFZA, DAFZA, Dubai South and Dubai Silicon Oasis applications on request.

Free Zones in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi

In Sharjah, SHAMS, SPC, SAIF Zone and Hamriyah cover media, publishing, trading and industry, see business setup in Sharjah. In Ras Al Khaimah, RAKEZ licenses operating companies and RAK ICC registers offshore companies, see business setup in Ras Al Khaimah and our RAKEZ guide. In Abu Dhabi, KEZAD, ADGM, twofour54 and Masdar City serve industry, finance, media and technology, see business setup in Abu Dhabi.

Corporate Tax for Free Zone Companies

A free zone license is not a tax exemption. Since June 2023, a free zone company that meets the qualifying free zone person conditions can apply 0% to qualifying income, and pays 9% on the rest. It must register with the Federal Tax Authority either way. Ask a registered tax agent to confirm whether your income qualifies before you choose a zone on tax grounds alone.

Documents Required for a Free Zone Company

  • Passport and photo of every shareholder, director and manager
  • Residents add their UAE visa and Emirates ID; non-residents the entry stamp
  • Proof of address and a short business plan or activity description
  • Trade name options
  • For corporate shareholders: certificate of incorporation, MOA/AOA, board resolution and good-standing certificate, authenticated in the home country and legalized by the UAE embassy (which now includes MOFA attestation digitally), then legally translated where the zone requires Arabic

Every zone adds its own forms; official lists are on the zones' sites, such as IFZA and DMCC.
