Russia certificate attestation in UAE makes a Russian diploma, ZAGS certificate, power of attorney or company charter usable for UAE visas, school admission, equivalency, property deals and company set-up. A Russian apostille cannot do this on its own, because the UAE sits outside the Hague system. Wordcraft arranges consular legalization, the UAE Embassy in Moscow and Russian-to-Arabic legal translation, with a free written quote within 10–30 minutes.
The Apostille Trap for Russian Documents
The Russian-speaking community in the UAE now includes investors, founders, IT professionals, families and students, and sooner or later most of them need a Russian paper recognized here: a diploma for a work permit, a birth certificate for a school, a marriage certificate for a family visa, or a charter to open a UAE company.
The most frequent mistake is to order an apostille in Russia and assume the job is done. For the UAE it is not. The document needs consular legalization instead, followed by the UAE Embassy in Moscow. If you already hold an apostilled document, send us a photo; we will tell you what is still missing and whether the original or a notarized copy should go forward.

How Russia Certificate Attestation Works for the UAE
Russian documents usually follow the route below. Some are legalized as notarized copies rather than originals, and we tell you which applies to yours before anything is sent.
- Issuing authority or Russian notary: ZAGS, the university, the court or the company registry; notarized copies and powers of attorney begin with a Russian notary.
- Certification of that signature: by the Russian authority responsible for the type of document, whether civil-status, notarial or educational.
- Russia's foreign ministry (or the authority it designates): consular legalization for use in a country outside the Apostille Convention.
- UAE Embassy in Moscow: legalization, with the UAE MOFA attestation completed digitally in the same step, so the document normally needs no separate MOFA visit in the UAE.
- Russian-to-Arabic legal translation: for UAE ministries, courts and most free zones.
How the embassy and MOFA steps now merge into one digital certificate is explained on our UAE embassy attestation page. Russian papers legalized earlier with a paper embassy stamp may still need MOFA attestation in the UAE.
Russian-to-Arabic Legal Translation
UAE authorities do not work with Russian text, so almost every attested Russian document needs translating. Our Russian legal translation team works with MOJ-certified legal translators and translates into Arabic, or into English where an employer or free zone prefers it. We translate after legalization so every stamp and note is covered, and we copy the Latin spelling of names from your international passport. Mismatched transliteration is one of the most common reasons a Russian file comes back.
Timing, Originals and Notarized Copies
Timing depends on which Russian authorities certify the document, whether an original or a notarized copy is legalized, and current processing at the foreign ministry and the UAE Embassy in Moscow. We give the expected timing for your document in the quote rather than a stock promise.
- The original Russian document, or our instructions for preparing a notarized copy
- A copy of the holder's international passport, for the spelling of names
- The diploma supplement, when a diploma is going to equivalency or licensing
- A signed authorization letter for our partners in Russia
- For companies: the charter, a current EGRUL extract and the signatory's passport
Who Needs Attested Russian Documents in the UAE

Frequently Asked Questions
Is an apostille from Russia accepted in the UAE?
Not by itself. Russia issues apostilles for use in Hague member states, and the UAE has not joined that system, so an apostille is at most one step taken inside Russia. A UAE authority will still expect legalization by the UAE Embassy in Moscow.
After the UAE Embassy in Moscow, is a MOFA visit in the UAE still needed?
Usually not. The embassy completes the UAE MOFA attestation digitally when it legalizes the document. Older papers with only a paper embassy stamp are the main exception, and we check them for you.
Should I legalize the original or a notarized copy?
It depends on the document. Some are legalized as originals, while for others a notarized copy is the usual route. We tell you which to prepare before anything leaves your hands.
Do Russian documents need Arabic translation?
Almost always. We provide Russian-to-Arabic legal translation by an MOJ-certified translator, with names spelled exactly as in your international passport.
How long does Russia certificate attestation take?
The Russian certifying authority, the choice between original and notarized copy, and current embassy processing all affect it. We put the expected timing in your written quote.
Can I legalize a Russian power of attorney for a property sale in the UAE?
Yes. A power of attorney signed before a Russian notary can be legalized for the UAE and translated into Arabic. Send us the draft before you sign, because UAE land departments and courts check closely that the powers match the transaction.
