Attest Your Certificates in Abu Dhabi

Documents You Need

  • The original certificate or document (not a copy)
  • A copy of the certificate holder's passport
  • For educational certificates: the transcripts or mark sheets, if the issuing authority or your employer asks for them
  • A copy of your UAE visa or Emirates ID, if you are a resident
  • A signed authorisation letter, if Wordcraft handles the home-country and embassy steps for you

How It Works — Step by Step

  1. Send a scan on WhatsApp or email — we confirm the exact route for your document and country and send a free quote within 10–30 minutes.
  2. Hand over the original at our Abu Dhabi office (or any of our other offices) or use our free pickup.
  3. Home-country authentication — the document is authenticated by the competent authorities in the issuing country (for example a notary, the issuing body and the foreign ministry, as that country requires).
  4. UAE embassy legalization with digital MOFA attestation — the UAE Embassy or Consulate in the issuing country legalizes the document and now completes the UAE MOFA attestation digitally in the same step, so in most cases no separate MOFA visit is needed in the UAE. We confirm the route for your country in the quote.
  5. Arabic translation, if required — a certified legal translation by an MOJ-licensed legal translator when the receiving authority asks for one.
  6. Delivery — collect the attested document from our office or receive it through our free delivery.

Abu Dhabi Attestation After the Digital Switch (September 2026)

Abu Dhabi residents used to plan a morning at a MOFA counter. Today the MOFA step is online, and for most foreign documents it has already been completed by the UAE Embassy in the country that issued them. What still decides your route is where the document comes from and which Abu Dhabi body will receive it.

  • Foreign degree for an Abu Dhabi employer, a DOH license or ADEK: authentication in the home country, then the UAE Embassy there, which includes MOFA in the same application.
  • Abu Dhabi document going abroad: MOFA attestation online through UAE PASS, then the embassy of the destination country, most of which are based in Abu Dhabi.
  • Any document: it must not be laminated, and it must be in Arabic or English or carry a certified translation, as MOFA requires.

Abu Dhabi Documents: TAMM and ADEK Certificates

More and more Abu Dhabi government certificates, school records overseen by ADEK among them, are issued or retrieved digitally through the TAMM platform. A digital certificate with a QR code or reference number can go straight to MOFA's online attestation, while an older paper certificate may first need verifying by the body that issued it. Our Hamdan Street team checks which case yours is, handles the MOFA step and prepares the Arabic or English legal translation if the receiving office asks for one. MOFA's own rules are on the MOFA website. Last reviewed: September 2026.

More Questions About Certificate Attestation in Abu Dhabi

My degree was legalized by the UAE Embassy last month. Is it ready for Abu Dhabi?

In most cases, yes. A digital embassy legalization issued under the current system already carries the MOFA attestation, so your employer or ADEK can verify it straight away. We still check it before you submit, because an older paper stamp would need MOFA in the UAE.

Are documents attested in Dubai accepted in Abu Dhabi?

Yes. MOFA attestation is a federal step and does not depend on the emirate where it was done. Abu Dhabi bodies such as DOH or ADEK may run their own verification on top of it.

Do you collect documents outside Abu Dhabi city?

Free collection covers Abu Dhabi, including Musaffah and Khalifa City. Free collection does not cover Al Ain or Al Dhafra; customers there send originals by courier or hand them in at our Hamdan Street office, and we confirm the options in the quote.

Is an apostille enough for an ADEK or DOH application?

No. Both follow the federal rule: a foreign document needs UAE Embassy legalization, which now includes MOFA. An apostille from the issuing country may be one step on the way, never the last one.

Can a laminated certificate be attested for use in Abu Dhabi?

MOFA does not accept laminated documents. Ask the university or registry for a new original or a certified duplicate, and send that to us instead.

Attestation for Abu Dhabi authorities

Abu Dhabi customers most often need attested certificates for the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and school admissions, for residence and family visa files, for health licenses, and for employers and universities in the capital. Tell us which authority will receive the document and we confirm the exact attestation route for it: UAE-issued documents go through the issuing authority and the digital MOFA attestation; documents issued abroad go through home-country authentication and the UAE embassy, which now completes the MOFA step digitally in most cases.

Indian & Philippine Embassy Attestation in Abu Dhabi

Many customers in Abu Dhabi search for Indian embassy attestation in Abu Dhabi or Philippine embassy attestation in Abu Dhabi. Two different routes sit behind these searches, and our Abu Dhabi branch on Hamdan Street handles both:

  • Indian or Philippine documents for use in the UAE: degrees, birth and marriage certificates are attested in the issuing country and then by the UAE Embassy there (which now includes the digital MOFA step), and our MOJ-certified legal translators translate them into Arabic. See Indian certificate attestation and Philippine document attestation.
  • UAE documents for use in India or the Philippines: powers of attorney, UAE birth or marriage certificates and company papers are notarized or attested in the UAE and then presented to the Indian Embassy or the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, usually through their authorized service center. We prepare, translate and submit the file for you.

Send us a photo of the document and tell us where it will be used, and the free quote (within 10–30 minutes) sets out the route for your case.
