A No Objection Certificates (NOC) is an official document that confirms an individual or entity has no objections to a particular action, agreement, or legal process. Whether required for employment, business transactions, visa applications, or legal purposes, Wordcraft provides expertly drafted and attested NOCs in compliance with UAE regulations.
Why Do You Need an NOC?
An No Objection Certificates (NOC) is essential for various purposes, including employment changes, company formation, property dealings, and immigration procedures. It serves as a legal assurance that no claims or disputes exist regarding the matter in question. Without a valid NOC, many official processes may be delayed or rejected.

- Employment NOC: Required for job transfers, visa renewals, or pursuing higher studies while employed.
- Business NOC: Necessary for starting a business, changing trade licenses, or working on joint ventures.
- Property NOC: Used for buying, selling, or leasing property in the UAE.
- Travel NOC: Needed for minors or employees traveling with company approval.
- Bank & Financial NOC: Required for loan approvals, credit applications, or financial clearances.
- Visa & Immigration NOC: Essential for visa processing, family sponsorships, or residency status changes.

Documents You Need
- The purpose of the NOC and who it is addressed to — or the requesting authority's template
- The original Emirates ID of every signatory (residents), or the original passport (non-residents and visitors)
- The details of the person or company giving consent and of the person receiving it
- For company NOCs: the trade licence, and proof of the signatory's authority (MOA or board resolution)
- Supporting documents, for example a tenancy contract, vehicle registration or employment contract
- An Arabic translation or a bilingual Arabic–English version, if the document is not already in Arabic — we prepare it for you
Frequently Asked Questions
Does an NOC have to be notarized?
It depends on who asked for it. Many employers and landlords accept an NOC on letterhead, while authorities, banks and embassies often require a notarized one. We confirm the format before drafting.
Can I notarize a document without a valid Emirates ID?
Yes. Dubai Courts notarization requires a valid Emirates ID. Without one (for example, if you are a visitor, a non-resident or your ID has expired), we arrange notarization through the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) with your passport, usually by video. We confirm the route for your case before booking.
Does the document need to be in Arabic?
UAE notaries work in Arabic, so non-Arabic documents are usually prepared bilingually or with a certified Arabic legal translation, which we provide.
Will a UAE-notarized document be accepted abroad?
Usually it also needs MOFA attestation and legalization by the destination country's embassy. We confirm the route for your country before notarization.
Common NOC Letters in the UAE and Who Signs Them
| NOC | Signed by | Typically requested by |
|---|---|---|
| Employer NOC | Employer (company signatory) | Another employer, a free zone, a bank, an embassy or a university |
| Sponsor NOC | Visa sponsor (husband, father or company) | Employers, schools or authorities for a sponsored family member |
| Landlord NOC | Property owner | DET or a free zone for a business address, or utilities and fit-out approvals |
| Spouse NOC | Husband or wife | Employers, banks or authorities, depending on the matter |
| Parent NOC / child travel consent | One or both parents | Airlines, immigration or schools; see child travel consent letter |
| Vehicle NOC | Owner or finance bank | RTA or traffic departments for transfer, export or driving by another person |
When an NOC Must Be Notarized vs Signed on Letterhead
Not every NOC needs a notary. As a rule of thumb:
- Letterhead is usually enough when a company issues an NOC to a UAE employer, a free zone or a bank that knows the company, signed by an authorized signatory and stamped.
- Notarization is usually needed when an individual gives consent (spouse, parent, landlord), when the NOC will be relied on by a government authority, or when the other party cannot verify the signature.
- Notarization plus MOFA and embassy is needed when the NOC will be used abroad; see notarization for use abroad.
If a commitment rather than consent is required, you may need an undertaking letter; if facts must be declared on oath, a sworn affidavit.
Getting Your NOC: From Request to Signed Letter
- Tell us who wants the NOC and why. The requesting party decides the format, so we start there.
- Written quote in 10–30 minutes: saying whether letterhead, a notary or attestation is needed.
- Approve and pay online or at the branch nearest you.
- Drafting: a bilingual Arabic–English NOC, or the requesting authority's own template filled in correctly, sent for your approval.
- Signing: on company letterhead, or before a notary in person or by video.
- Delivery: the signed NOC as a file, with any original returned to you; MOFA and embassy attestation follow if it will be used abroad.
