Brazil certificate attestation in UAE is required before a Brazilian diploma, birth or marriage certidão, criminal-record certificate or company document can be used for a UAE visa, job, license or corporate file. The document is authenticated in Brazil and legalized by the UAE Embassy in Brasília. Wordcraft coordinates both, plus the Portuguese-to-Arabic legal translation, with a free written quote within 10–30 minutes.
Airline Crew, Coaches, Chefs and Founders
Brazilians in the UAE include airline crew, football players and coaches, jiu-jitsu instructors, engineers, chefs and hospitality managers, plus a growing number of entrepreneurs. Most need at least one attested document: a university diploma for a work visa, a certidão de casamento and the children's birth certificates for family sponsorship, or a contrato social for a company license.
Brazil issues apostilles for Apostille Convention countries, but the UAE is not a member, so a Brazilian apostille on its own does not make a document valid here. (Background: the UAE and the Apostille Convention.) Brazilian documents for the UAE go through Brazilian authentication and then the UAE Embassy in Brasília, and we confirm the current requirements before starting.
Brazilian Documents We Attest
- University diplomas (bacharelado, licenciatura, mestrado, doutorado) and histórico escolar
- High school certificates (certificado de conclusão do ensino médio)
- Birth, marriage and death certificates, including full-content (inteiro teor) versions
- Brazilian criminal-record certificates
- Contrato social, company registry documents and board minutes
- Powers of attorney (procurações), declarations and employment letters
Cartório, Authentication, Embassy: The Brazil Route
- Signature recognition, where needed. Private documents such as powers of attorney and employment letters usually have the signature recognized at a Brazilian notary registry (cartório) first.
- Brazilian authentication. Carried out by the competent Brazilian authority, through the notary registry system and/or the foreign ministry, depending on the document and current rules.
- UAE Embassy in Brasília. Legalization for use in the UAE. The Brasília embassy now normally completes the UAE MOFA attestation digitally, so you rarely need a separate MOFA attestation in the UAE.
- Portuguese-to-Arabic legal translation, then submission to the UAE authority.
Brazilian requirements vary by document and can change, so the route for yours is confirmed before any work begins. The embassy's digital attestation is explained under UAE embassy attestation.
Portuguese-to-Arabic Legal Translation
UAE ministries, courts, notaries and free zones generally require Portuguese documents in Arabic. Our Portuguese legal translation team of MOJ-certified legal translators translates the attested document together with every stamp, seal and legalization. Company paperwork usually also needs commercial document attestation.
Preparing Your Brazilian Documents
- The original Brazilian document (recent certidões are often requested, and we check how recent)
- Holder's passport copy
- For diplomas: the histórico escolar, if the receiving office asks for it
- For company documents: the contrato social and the signatory's ID
- Emirates ID copy if you are resident in the UAE
- A signed authorization letter
Send a scan or photo by WhatsApp or email, or visit one of our four offices. The timeline depends on the document, whether signature recognition is needed and processing on the Brazilian side and at the embassy in Brasília; your quote gives a figure for your document, and the order can be tracked online once paid.
Who Needs Brazilian Documents Attested
- Brazilian professionals whose UAE work visa or license requires an attested degree certificate
- Airline, sports and hospitality staff moving into roles that require attested qualifications
- Families sponsoring a spouse or children with Brazilian marriage and birth certidões
- Brazilian companies and entrepreneurs opening a UAE branch or free-zone company
Brazil Attestation: Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Brazilian apostille accepted in the UAE?
No. Brazilian documents need Brazilian authentication and legalization by the UAE Embassy in Brasília, because the UAE is outside the Apostille Convention.
Should I use the short certidão or the inteiro teor version?
Some UAE authorities prefer the full-content (inteiro teor) certificate, particularly for family and court matters. We confirm which version the receiving office needs before starting.
Do Brazilian documents need an Arabic translation in the UAE?
Nearly always. Our MOJ-certified legal translators prepare the Portuguese-to-Arabic version from the attested document.
Is a separate MOFA attestation needed after the UAE Embassy in Brasília?
Usually no. The MOFA attestation is included digitally in the Brasília embassy step, and the quote confirms it.
How long does Brazil certificate attestation take?
It depends on the document and the steps it needs. A realistic estimate is part of the free quote.
