US Online Notary vs UAE E-Notary: Not the Same Thing

A search for "online notary" often brings up US remote online notarization (RON) services. A RON notarization is valid under the law of the US state that commissioned the notary; in the UAE it is a foreign document. To use it here, it follows the US route: state authentication (Secretary of State), US Department of State authentication, then the UAE Embassy in Washington, which now completes the UAE MOFA attestation digitally, and finally Arabic legal translation by an MOJ-certified legal translator. Not every authority in that chain handles remotely notarized documents in the same way, so we check your case first.

A UAE e-notary is different: a UAE authority (Dubai Courts, the Ministry of Justice, ADJD or another emirate's court) does the notarization, so the POA can be used in the UAE without any legalization. No Emirates ID? Passport and UAE PASS Options

Residents usually log in and verify with UAE PASS linked to their Emirates ID. Dubai Courts' notarization requires a valid Emirates ID. Visitors and non-residents without one are notarized through the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) e-Notary instead, which we arrange: you register with your passport details and the notary checks them during the video call. Signing From Outside the UAE

Online notarization is often the quickest way for someone abroad to sign a UAE POA, consent letter or company document: no courier, no embassy queue. Where the platform or the receiving authority does not allow it, the alternative is to sign before a notary in your country and legalize the document through the UAE embassy, then translate it into Arabic.
