Wordcraft provides MOJ-certified French legal translation in Dubai — for French legal translation, consulate and embassy documents. Our certified French translators handle contracts, certificates, court documents and powers of attorney with full accuracy, and our translations are accepted by UAE courts, the Ministry of Justice, government departments and embassies. We also handle documents for the French Consulate in Dubai.
Why Choose a Certified French Legal Translator
Legal documents demand precise terminology. A single mistranslation can invalidate a contract or delay a court case. Our French legal translators are licensed by the UAE Ministry of Justice (MOJ), so every translation is accepted the first time.
French Documents We Translate
- Contracts, agreements and company documents
- Court judgments and legal notices
- Powers of attorney (POA)
- Birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates
- Degree, diploma and experience certificates
- Passports, ID and residence documents
- Medical and insurance reports
French Translation Across the UAE
We provide certified French translation in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, with free pickup and delivery. Standard turnaround 1–2 working days; same-day Express available.
For all languages and document types, see our main Legal Translation in Dubai page.
Documents You Need
- A clear scan or photo of every page of your French document — front and back, including stamps, seals and any handwritten notes
- A copy of your passport, so names are spelled exactly as they appear in it
- The name of the authority that will receive the translation (court, ministry, embassy, bank, school or free zone), so we format it to that authority's requirements
- Any earlier translation or attestation stamps on the document, so names and terms stay consistent
- The original document, kept ready — some authorities ask to see it alongside the certified translation
How It Works — Step by Step
- Send your document on WhatsApp or email, or drop it at any of our four offices — Dubai HQ (Al Twar), Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah.
- Get a free quote within 10–30 minutes confirming the language pair, the receiving authority and the delivery time — before any work starts.
- Translation and review — a legal translator translates your French document and a second linguist proofreads it.
- Certification — the translation is stamped and signed by an MOJ-licensed legal translator.
- Collection or free delivery — pick it up from our office or use our free pickup and delivery. If the receiving authority asks for it, we can also arrange notarization or MOFA attestation.
French-Language Documents: Issuer, Attestation and UAE Destination
French reaches us from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Quebec, Lebanon, the Maghreb and francophone Africa. For papers from France, the path usually looks like this:
| Document | Issued by | Attest before translating? | Usually submitted to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acte de naissance or acte de mariage (extract or full copy) | The mairie; for French citizens born abroad, the central civil registry in Nantes | Yes | ICP or GDRFA for family visas; schools; UAE courts |
| Livret de famille | The mairie | Often, when used as evidence of family ties | ICP or GDRFA as supporting proof |
| Casier judiciaire extract | National criminal records office (Nantes) | Yes | Employers, licensing bodies, residence and Golden Visa files |
| Extrait Kbis | Commercial court registry (greffe) | Yes | DET, free zones, banks |
| Notarial deed or procuration | French notaire | Yes | UAE notaries and courts, Dubai Land Department |
| Baccalauréat, licence or master diploma | Ministry of Education or the university | Yes | Equivalency applications, MOHRE, employers |
Belgian and Swiss extracts may carry Dutch, German or Italian beside the French; Quebec issues its own civil-status certificates and notarial acts; and Lebanese, Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian papers are often bilingual Arabic and French. On those, the Arabic part can be read as it is, and we translate only the French-only stamps, notes or pages that the UAE office still needs. Accents and particles such as "de" or "El" are copied from the passport. The French Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai deal with French citizens' own consular matters, not with UAE legalization.
Legalization in Paris and Other Francophone Capitals
Papers from France are legalized by the French foreign ministry and then taken to the UAE Embassy in Paris, which records the UAE MOFA attestation electronically during its own legalization; some need a notaire or another French office first. Other French-speaking countries follow their own foreign ministry and the UAE mission accredited there. A French apostille does not stand in for any of this in the UAE. See France certificate attestation and Translate or attest first?
Other European Languages in a French File
French speakers from Belgium, Switzerland or southern Europe often bring papers in a second language. Our German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese teams can join the same order.
