The Golden visa for content creators and creative talent is a 10-year, self-sponsored UAE residence for creators, artists, writers, filmmakers and other cultural and digital talent. Instead of a salary or property condition, it depends on an endorsement from the authority responsible for your field, backed by a portfolio. Wordcraft helps you assemble and translate that evidence and files the visa once the endorsement is granted.

Who Counts as Creative Talent

The creative talent route is used by people with a recognized track record in their field, for example:

  • Content creators and digital media professionals with a significant audience and professional output
  • Artists: visual artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers, designers and performers
  • E-sports players and game developers with competitive results or published titles
  • Creative entrepreneurs running studios or production companies

There is no single public threshold for audience size, awards or income. Each endorsing authority applies its own criteria, which are updated from time to time, so we review your profile and confirm the criteria at application before you invest time in the file.

Endorsement, Nomination and Licensing

The key step is the endorsement or recommendation letter. It is issued by the cultural, creative or media authority that covers your field and emirate, for example the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority for creative talent in Dubai. With that endorsement, the Golden visa is filed with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) or, in Dubai, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

If you earn from paid or sponsored content in the UAE, you may also need the media license or advertiser permit that applies to your activity. A Golden visa does not replace that permit. We tell you whether it applies to your case so your residence and your commercial activity are both in order.

Documents You Need

  • Passport valid for at least six months and a recent photo
  • A portfolio: links, published work, channel statistics, exhibitions, releases or tournament results
  • Awards, certificates, contracts with brands, publishers or studios, and press coverage
  • Degree or professional certificates, attested for UAE use where the authority asks for them
  • Current visa and Emirates ID if you already live in the UAE, and health insurance

Evidence in a language other than Arabic or English (a foreign award certificate, a contract or a press article) usually needs a certified translation before the authority reviews it. Our legal translation team translates it in-house, and we attest certificates where required.

From Portfolio to Visa

  1. Profile review: send your passport and a short summary of your work on WhatsApp; we tell you which route and authority fit.
  2. Quote: a written quote within 10–30 minutes that covers the endorsement request, translations and the visa.
  3. Portfolio and translation: we organize your evidence, translate foreign documents and attest certificates.
  4. Endorsement: the application for the recommendation letter is submitted to the relevant authority, and we follow it up.
  5. Golden visa application: once the endorsement is issued, the residence application goes to ICP or GDRFA and you can follow it online.
  6. Medical and Emirates ID: appointments are booked for you, and the card is couriered once issued.

Family and Renewal

Like other Golden visa holders, creators can sponsor their spouse and children, and often parents, with attested relationship certificates; see family visa. Renewal depends on remaining active in your field under the endorsing authority's criteria at that time, so keep your portfolio up to date. For the full list of Golden visa categories, see our Golden visa services or the Golden visa eligibility guide. The endorsing authority and ICP or GDRFA make the decisions; we make sure the evidence they see is complete.

The creative-talent category is described on u.ae; the residence itself is issued through ICP or GDRFA Dubai.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many followers do I need for a Golden visa as a content creator?

There is no single published follower number. The endorsing authority looks at your overall influence, quality of work and professional activity, and we confirm the current criteria at application.

Can game developers and e-sports players apply?

Yes. Gaming and e-sports talent can qualify with the right endorsement and evidence such as published games or competitive results.

Do I need to live in the UAE already?

Not necessarily. Some applicants apply from abroad and enter on an entry permit once approved; we confirm the route for your case.

Does the Golden visa let me run paid campaigns in the UAE?

The visa covers your residence. Paid content may also need a media license or advertiser permit, which we check for you.

How much does the creative Golden visa cost?

The endorsement and residence fees depend on your field and family size. Your written quote itemizes them with our charge.
