Salary certificate attestation in the UAE is needed when a letter from your UAE employer, confirming your job and pay, has to be accepted by an authority in another country: a visa section, a bank back home or a school abroad. UAE banks and landlords normally take the letter as issued. For foreign use, Wordcraft checks the wording, arranges the employer-side certification, MOFA and embassy steps, and translates it.
Who Asks for an Attested Salary Certificate
- Foreign embassies and visa sections that want legalized proof of employment and income with a visit, spouse or residence application.
- Family sponsorship files in another country where your income has to be shown.
- Banks in your home country assessing a loan, mortgage or account.
- Schools and universities abroad that look at parental income for admission or financial aid.
- Courts and public offices abroad dealing with maintenance or other income-related matters.
Inside the UAE the picture is different: banks, landlords and family visa files set their own format and accept the employer's letter without attestation.
What the Letter Must Show Before Anyone Stamps It
- Company letterhead showing the trade license number and address.
- Your full name exactly as in your passport, and your passport number.
- Job title and date of joining.
- The salary figure with its currency, and whether it is basic or total pay.
- The signatory's name and title, a signature and the company stamp.
- A recent date, since receiving offices prefer a freshly issued letter.
Missing details are the usual reason a salary letter is refused at the certification stage or by the embassy, so we read it before you submit.
Salary Certificate Attestation Route: Employer to Embassy
- Your employer issues the letter with the details the destination authority expects.
- The employer's signature is certified where required, usually by the chamber of commerce for mainland companies or by the free zone authority. Occasionally an employment record from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) is requested with it. The step varies by emirate and employer, and we confirm yours.
- MOFA attests it digitally, and the attestation can be checked online; see MOFA attestation.
- The destination country's embassy in the UAE legalizes it, if that country asks; see embassy attestation in Dubai.
Salary Letters Issued Outside the UAE
A salary or employment letter from a company abroad that is needed in the UAE takes the reverse path: signature certification in that country, its foreign ministry, then the UAE Embassy, which now adds the MOFA attestation digitally. Employment history letters usually travel together with an experience certificate attestation.
Translation Into the Destination Language
Most UAE salary certificates are in English, and a few are in Arabic or bilingual. When the destination office needs another language we prepare a certified translation in any of 150+ languages; Arabic legal translation is done by MOJ-certified legal translators. Other personal UAE documents going overseas follow the route on UAE document attestation for abroad.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a salary certificate need attestation for use in the UAE?
Usually not. UAE banks, landlords and government offices accept the employer's letter in their own format.
Can the salary certificate go straight to MOFA?
Not normally. The employer's signature is generally certified first by the chamber of commerce or the free zone authority, and we check which applies to your employer.
How recent should the salary certificate be?
Most receiving offices want a letter issued shortly before you apply. Ask HR for a fresh one before attestation starts.
Is MOFA attestation of a salary certificate digital?
Yes. The attestation is electronic and the foreign office can verify it online.
Can you collect the letter from our HR department?
Yes. We collect from the employer or from you in any emirate and return the attested letter the same way.
Should I attest my experience certificate at the same time?
If the destination also asks for your work history, one batch avoids a second round of certification.
How long does salary certificate attestation take?
The certification step and the embassy set the pace. Your written quote states the expected timing.
