Netherlands certificate attestation in UAE makes Dutch diplomas, birth and marriage extracts, certificates of conduct and company documents valid for UAE employers, ministries, free zones and courts. The document is legalized in the Netherlands and then by the UAE Embassy in The Hague. Wordcraft coordinates both steps and any Arabic legal translation, with the route confirmed in a free written quote within 10–30 minutes.
Dutch Professionals, Dutch Companies, Mixed-Language Files
Dutch nationals and graduates of Dutch universities work across the UAE in logistics, energy, finance, engineering and education, and many Dutch companies run regional operations from Dubai. Their files are often a mix: a diploma with an English-language supplement, a municipal extract in Dutch or in multilingual form, and company documents from the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK).
The Netherlands belongs to the Apostille Convention, but the UAE does not, so a Dutch apostille does not make a document valid here. (Our post on the UAE and apostilles has the detail.) We confirm which Dutch authority must act on each document before starting.
- Dutch professionals whose UAE employment visa or license needs an attested degree certificate
- Families sponsoring a spouse or children with Dutch marriage, partnership and birth extracts
- Dutch companies opening a UAE branch, subsidiary or free-zone entity
- Teachers at international schools and engineers applying for UAE registration
Legalizing Dutch Documents: The Steps
- Preliminary certification, where required. Many diplomas are first certified by the Dutch education agency; private documents such as powers of attorney and company resolutions by a notary.
- Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Legalization of the signature and seal for a country outside the Apostille Convention.
- UAE Embassy in The Hague. Legalization for use in the UAE. The embassy now normally completes the UAE MOFA attestation digitally at the same time, so a separate MOFA attestation in the UAE is usually not needed.
- Arabic legal translation, if required, then submission to the UAE authority.
The route for your specific document is confirmed before any work begins. The UAE Embassy's digital process is set out on our UAE embassy attestation page.

Dutch-to-Arabic Legal Translation
UAE courts, notaries, ministries and most free zones require an Arabic legal translation of documents issued in Dutch. Our MOJ-certified legal translators work from the attested document, including every stamp and legalization; the full list of pairs is on our translation languages page. Where a Dutch document is in English or multilingual form, less translation may be needed. The receiving authority decides, and we check before you pay for any translation.
What to Send for a Dutch File
- The original Dutch document (recent municipal extracts are often requested)
- Holder's passport copy
- Diploma supplement or transcript, if the receiving office asks for it
- For company documents: a recent KVK extract and the signatory's passport copy
- Emirates ID or residence visa copy
- A signed authorization letter
Scan the document to us on WhatsApp or by email, or bring it to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah. Timing depends on the document, any preliminary certification, and processing at the Dutch foreign ministry and the embassy in The Hague; after secure online payment you can see each stage in your order.
Netherlands Attestation FAQ
Is a Dutch apostille accepted in the UAE?
No. The UAE has not joined the Apostille Convention, so Dutch documents are legalized by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in The Hague.
Can a registered partnership certificate be used for UAE family sponsorship?
UAE immigration authorities set the sponsorship rules. Before any attestation starts, we check with you which family document they will accept in your case.
Do Dutch documents always need an Arabic translation?
Documents in Dutch usually do. English or multilingual extracts may need less, depending on the receiving authority, and we confirm before you pay.
Is a separate MOFA attestation needed after the UAE Embassy in The Hague?
Normally no, since The Hague embassy completes it digitally in one step. Your quote confirms this.
How long does Netherlands certificate attestation take?
It depends on the document and whether it needs preliminary certification. A realistic estimate is included in your free quote.
