How Lebanon Certificate Attestation Works for the UAE
A Lebanese document normally moves from its issuer to Lebanon's foreign ministry and then to the UAE Embassy in Beirut. Some educational papers need an education ministry check first, and a few documents take a different channel. We confirm the path for yours before you pay.
- Issuing authority: the university, school, civil registry, court or commercial register signs and stamps the document.
- Education check, where required: Lebanon's education ministry reviews some school and university documents before they go further.
- Lebanon's foreign ministry (or the authority it designates): authenticates the Lebanese signatures and seals.
- UAE Embassy in Beirut: legalizes the document for use in the UAE. Under the current digital process the embassy also records the UAE MOFA attestation, so the document normally needs nothing more from MOFA once it reaches you.
- Back to you in the UAE: the digital certificate, and the original where one is used, delivered to you.

Arabic, French or English: Does a Lebanese Document Need Translation?
Civil-status extracts and most court papers from Lebanon are already in Arabic, so UAE authorities read them as they are. Degrees and transcripts from French- or English-medium universities are a different case. If the receiving authority wants them in Arabic, our MOJ-certified legal translators prepare the legal translation once attestation is complete, so the embassy and ministry stamps appear in it too. Do Lebanese Arabic documents need translation for UAE use?
Usually not. An extract or certificate issued in Arabic is read in the UAE as it stands. French or English papers may need an Arabic legal translation if the receiving authority requests one.
After the UAE Embassy in Beirut stamps my document, do I still go to MOFA in the UAE?
Normally not. The embassy in Beirut now completes the UAE MOFA attestation digitally as part of its own legalization. Documents carrying only an older paper embassy stamp can be the exception, and we check those from a photo.

My degree is from a Lebanese university that teaches in French. Is that a problem?
No. The language of the degree does not change the attestation route. If an equivalency or licensing body then asks for Arabic or English, we translate the attested degree and transcripts together.
