Bikram Sambat Dates: Why Nepali Files Get Sent Back
Nepal dates its documents in Bikram Sambat (B.S.), a calendar that runs roughly 56 to 57 years ahead of the Gregorian one. A birth recorded in 2055 B.S. took place in 1998 or 1999, depending on the month. If a translation copies the B.S. year without converting it, the date no longer matches the passport, and a visa typist or court clerk will reject the file. Our translations show the B.S. date as written with the Gregorian equivalent beside it.
Getting a Nepali Citizenship Certificate Ready for a UAE File
The citizenship certificate (nagarikta praman patra) is issued by the District Administration Office and is written almost entirely in Nepali. UAE offices use it as supporting identity proof, for example in family sponsorship or when a passport name needs explaining.
